Antiques Roadshow Television producer and director Nicky Illis has heartbreakingly died of cancer aged 53, with BBC colleague Fiona Bruce describing her as 'irreplaceable' following the news

Television producer and director Nicky Illis, who worked on Antiques Roadshow and was the long-term director of Fake or Fortune, has sadly died of cancer aged 53.

At the beginning of this year, Nicky directed a new episode of Fake Or Fortune? with presenters Philip Mould and Fiona Bruce. Meanwhile, Fake or Fortune series editor Robert Murphy had worked with Nicky since 2001, and described their relationship as "partners in art crime", labelling her one of the "best TV directors" of her generation in a heartfelt tribute. Robert also worked on Antiques Roadshow.
