Police said the child's father and another person traded gunfire before a bullet struck the 2-year-old.
According to the Federal Way Police Department , officers responded to a report of a shooting at the IHOP on thejust before 10 a.m. Thursday. The department said a few minutes later, officers received a call from St. Francis Hospital that a 2-year-old was at the hospital with a gunshot wound. “Kids have no place in this type of violence," said Massaquoi. "I really wish it would have been settled in a different manner but I really hope the kid pulls through and is okay."
