As of yesterday, Apollo Quiboloy was considered a fugitive from justice.

This was after a combined team of Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation agents served court-issued warrants for the arrest of the pastor and five others at his home and office in his sprawling estate where he conducted his Kingdom of Jesus Christ ministry.

At least three of Quiboloy’s co-defendants were arrested yesterday and posted bail of P80,000 each. Surely the pastor, who tools around in a private jet and helicopter, can afford that bail amount. He can’t post bail, however, for the arrest order issued by the Senate for contempt of the chamber, where a committee is investigating the same accusations of sexual abuse hurled against him by several KOJC members.

Quiboloy has denied the accusations against him. The best and quickest way to establish innocence, however, is to face the music. Flight is seen as an indication of guilt.
