Two Aussies have spoken about their desperate plight after being left stranded on the African island of São Tomé by a Norwegian cruise line. Doug and Violeta Sanders are trying to rejoin the ship in Senegal on Tuesday , but say they have still been left without essentials.

Major update on Norwegian Cruise Lines after passengers were left stranded on African island. The Australian couple are with fellow stranded passengers including a person with paraplegia who relies on a wheelchair, a pregnant woman, and a man with a heart condition. The group had returned late from a day trip on São Tomé last Wednesday and the Norwegian Dawn crew would not let them board, as the ship was already about to disembark.
