A champagne steam trip from Liverpool sold out within days – despite tickets costing up to £700 each. Now bosses of Britain’s poshest train, the Northern Belle, have organised another journey due to popular demand. The 1930s Pullman-style train, which actor Bill Nighy once described on television as "the Grand Dame of luxury travel", will run another service in September. A spokesman said: "We were surprised but delighted by the demand for tickets.
Our steam journeys are always extremely popular, but we were staggered at how quickly this sold out."
