The transformation is not merely cosmetic; it signifies an evolution of curatorial engagement with art, artists, collectors, and the community at large.
San Francisco Art Fair is intentionally designed to echo the dynamic spirit of the Bay Area, showcasing a curated selection of 85 leading galleries alongside a compelling series of public programs that showcase the fair's dedication to celebrating and nurturing local talent alongside regional and international names.
Programming highlights from Bay Area creators include a curated space at the entryway to the fair by Saint Joseph's Arts Foundation and its founding entity, Ken Fulk Inc, We Didn't Get the Memo, a vibrant collection of works spotlighting the undiminished creativity and resilience of Bay Area artists curated by Cheryl Derricotte, and The Creative as Mapmaker: The Black Atlantic in the Bay Area, a group exhibition of Black Residency alumni curated by Hannah Waiters.
Alongside this, KADIST and Iraqi-American Artist Michael Rakowitz will showcase Behemoth II, a work that explores the nature of monuments and memory in contemporary society. Additionally, Brazilian artist Ruy Cézar Campos will present South Atlantic Nodal Techno-Imaginaries, a multimedia installation that examines the tangible impacts of global connectivity.
As an effort to foster meaningful connections and conversations in the art community and beyond, the fair will also offer a curated selection of daily talks, panels, and conversations that are free and open to the public. To learn more and plan your visit, head to sanfranciscoartfair.com
