Declan Lawn answered burning questions about series two at a special preview of the show in Belfast

The highly-anticipated second series of Northern Irish police drama Blue Lights is set to return to our screen very soon.

Declan said: "I think maybe hopefully you're starting to get a sense as we go into season two about the kind of creative reasons for that decision. "The decision about Gerry was not some kind of screenwriter lead decision made in episode four saying 'Why don't we kill Gerry' - the moment we started writing the show, we knew what was going to happen and at its heart, it's a story about Northern Ireland about how we all deal with grief and loss and move on from it."

"It will be part of it in season three and four too. I think move or die kind of sums up where you're at when you reach the end of any series." He added: "It's not just me now, and it's not just Adam, it's bigger than us so you feel like you're kind of carrying something precious and you want to do your best by it."Alongside the strong cast returning from the first series, Declan praised the new additions who are set to add even more depth, drama and humour in the upcoming episodes.
