SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The Kingkiller Chronicle books by Patrick Rothfuss have taken the world by storm, and the long-awaited conclusion to the series, The Doors of Stone, has many questions to answer. After book one, The Name of the Wind was published in 2007, fans were already clamoring for the sequel, The Wise Man's Fear, which arrived in 2011.
Many speculations surrounding the king's identity involve Ambrose, the son of a nobleman and Kvothe's rival at the University. 8 What War Is Happening In Temerant In The Present? If Kvothe started it, why won't he fight? Based on the socio-economic and political world-building of The Kingkiller Chronicle, there are many factions, societies, and ethnicities with different views and beliefs that co-exist in Temerant. Kvothe meets many different kinds of people throughout his travels and descends from a group of traveling singers and storytellers who have a varied reputation among the monarchy of the land.
Felurian is a member of the Fae who teaches Kvothe about magic and love but doesn't want him to leave. He eventually convinces her to let him go through trickery, but she makes him promise to one day return to her. In the present, it doesn't seem as though Kvothe has kept this promise yet, but there's much more the young Kvothe could learn from the Fae and return to their realm in doing so.
The Chronicler is in awe of Kvothe throughout the audience, but he also withholds a skepticism that this innkeeper is really the man of legend he's heard so much about. In one of his asides, he asks himself if Kvothe could really have killed an angel. This rumor was most likely the result of one of the many untrue legends that circulated about Kvothe, but if he entered the Fae realm, there could be a kernel of truth.
3 Is Kvothe A Lackless? Was his mother the Lackless who ran away with the Edema Ruh? It's implied in The Wise Man's Fear that Kvothe's parents, part of the Edema Ruh, might have more noble blood than he ever knew. A member of the Lackless family marries a man Kvothe hoped would be his patron, but he is sent away because he tells her he is part of the Edema Ruh. She reacts badly because she believes her sister was stolen by a group of Edema Ruh many years ago.
