Kerrin McEvoy will be out of the saddle for up to two months due to injuries sustained in a fall at Rosehill on Saturday. The champion rider fell from Tintookie in the final event on the card and underwent medical attention on the track before being transported to hospital where he undertook scans and tests. Racing NSW on Monday released an update detailing the extent of McEvoy’s injuries, confirming he will not require surgery.
” Tintookie was euthanised after the four-year-old mare suffered injuries in the fall. McEvoy’s incident came at the end of what had been a mixed day for the popular three-time Melbourne Cup winner. After going within a head of winning the Golden Slipper when Coleman was narrowly denied by Lady of Camelot, he bounced back to claim the Group 1 The Galaxy aboard outsider Zapateo.
