Planet of the Apes and Pearl Harbor Star Ron Harper Dies at 91

Planet of the Apes and Pearl Harbor star Ron Harper has passed away at age 91. The legendary Hollywood actor died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles from natural causes, his family confirmed. Ron was famous for playing astronaut Alan Virdon in CBS' Planet of the Apes in 1974, and also starred in the much-loved children's TV show Land of the Lost. Before his big break, he appeared in The Tall Man and Laramie.

Ron leaves behind his daughter Nicole Longeuay, who announced that her father had passed away on Thursday from natural causes at his home in West Hills. He also leaves behind his son-in-law Daniel, and his two granddaughters Ronnie and Harper. More recently, Ron appeared in the 2001 blockbuster Pearl Harbor, where he acted alongside stars like Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale. In 2005, he featured in Glass Trap and two years later he worked on the crime thriller The Poughkeepsie Tapes, reports the Mirro
