Death In Paradise star Ralf Little breaks his silence

His character DI Neville Parker said farewell to the island of Saint Marie in Sunday night's episode - leaving viewers in tears.

Death In Paradise star Ralf Little has broken his silence on his exit from the BBC show in a new video 'I had no idea if viewers would take to my interpretation of Neville's character and indeed to me, so it was quite a relief the response has been overwhelming. 'They know what they're doing and the future is in good hands! So I'll be watching series 14 along with you guys with the same excitement you all will. I can't wait to see what happens next!'

Viewers decided it was the perfect ending for the two characters with one tweeting: 'I'm sobbing Neville and Florence sailing off into the sun together was the perfect ending' His happy ending with Florence didn't look certain with his return to the island though as he told her he still wanted to leave the island solo.

'OMG. I can't believe it. They are going traveling together,' cried another but one more was keen to know if it was just a short break for the pair: 'It's just a quick holiday round the islands, right? They're coming back, right? #DeathInParadise' Ralf was the longest-lasting lead and followed in the footsteps of Ben Miller, Kris Marshall, and Ardal O'Hanlon who all played in the iconic role, with producers now on the lookout for his replacement.

'And it looks beautiful - never was murder so enjoyable. It is an incredible achievement. It is something I am very proud of.'
