90s pop icon unrecognisable 32 years since first hit and celeb girlfriends

Jamiroquai's lead singer Jay Kay looks totally different 32 years after the band's first hit single, When You Gonna Learn.

Jamiroquai was established in 1992, becoming a key player in London's funk and acid jazz scene in the 90s. The band had three number one albums in the UK - Emergency on Planet Earth, Synkronized and A Funk Odyssey. Their 1998 single Deeper Underground also topped the charts in the UK. The singer shared his journey via a video posted from his hospital bed, dressed in a white hospital gown, where he said: "I've just come out of the theatre where I had some stunningly painful injections to my spinal discs as it were."

Denise ended up spending the entire weekend at Jay's 11-bedroom house for their second date. In her book A Bit of Me: From Basildon to Broadway and Back, she shared a funny story about how she was left searching for her underwear in the wee hours of the morning, only to find out later that Jay's pet dog had eaten them.He is now married to his wife, Maria, with whom he shares daughters Carla and Tallulah.
