Scottish Water has been accused of “neglect” after “horrific” sewage leaks flooded woodland near a major Scots river.
He said it’s been routinely “spewing” into a burn which feeds into the River Nith - and flooding woods which are popular with local dog-walkers with stinking raw filth. Stuart, 48, told the Record the issue in Thornhill has got worse since Christmas but has been ongoing for years with “nothing done about it”.
It comes as the Lib Dems have repeatedly called for upgrades to Scotland’s “Victorian” sewage system - with sewage overspilling into waterways a record 14,000 times last year.
