Mixed reaction to Tommy Tiernan Show as viewers accuse host of being 'sex mad'

There was a mixed reaction to Saturday night’s Tommy Tiernan Show, when the guests were Irish Paralympian Peter Ryan, poet John Cooper Clarke, and psychologist and musician Louize Carroll.

It comes as the latest figures from RTE show that the Tommy Tiernan show haemorrhaged viewers earlier this month, when the audience plummeted by 23,000 from 412,000.This week’s show opened with ultra endurance runner and Irish Paralympic cyclist Peter Ryan, who was described as a “motivational and inspirational fella” on social media as he described how he had overcome his visual impairment.

If Tommy did have a problem, luckily another guest was psychologist and musician Louize Carroll, who several viewers described as “insightful” as she spoke about mental health. One person on social media hailed him as “a bona fide lyrical genius” and “one of the most important living poets, for my money”.
