Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis has left a number of high profile celebrities 'ashamed' as they rush to delete cruel jokes they made about the Princess of Wales

The news that Kate Middleton has been diagnosed with cancer sent shockwaves around the world after Kensington Palace released a video announcement last night.

However, on Friday, Kate put an end to the speculation by confirming she had undergone major abdominal surgery and further tests revealed cancer was 'present'. She initially posted: "I'm so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz and @bettybooze products! Now you know why I've been MIA."On Instagram, she wrote: 'I'm sure no-one cares today but I feel I have to acknowledge this.

Owen Jones, who uses X, which used to be called Twitter, said he felt 'ashamed' for not thinking it could be a serious health issue. She shared in a video: "I saw all the news about Kate Middleton, and it's so horrible," adding, "I mean, I'm the same age as her so it really hits home and just sending prayers and good vibes her way."

Piers had a go at US chat show presenter Stephen Colbert who made wild jokes about the state of Kate and William's marriage on his late-night show.
