The actress has called the barge home for the past 27 yearsA Thames houseboat that once smuggled Allied airmen out of Nazi-occupied Europe has been put up for sale.
The 1922 barge is packed with history and was used in the Second World War to smuggle British airmen out of Holland and across the North Sea. It was last captained on the Dutch canals by a woman, who carried on her husband's business after he died.The property has 1,161 sq ft of accommodation and is kitted out like any ordinary house would be.There is also a characterful wheelhouse with doors to the deck.
She also appeared alongside Sir David Jason in A Touch of Frost. On the big screen she has appeared in The Land That Time Forgot and Count Dracula and has had an extensive stage career.
