It's tempting to say Larry Goldings lives several double lives, musically speaking, but that would be under-counting. Since rising to prominence in the early 1990s as the oh-so-funky keyboardist for former James Brown sax great Maceo Parker, Goldings has become one of the most versatile and in-demand organists and pianists around. Best known to pop-music fans for his key role in James Taylor's band over the past two decades, he has amassed a dizzying list of musical credits.
His Saturday concert with Bernstein and Stewart in La Jolla will follow the trio's sold-out January gig at The Jazz Lounge in Rolando and a show last July at the Belly Up that Goldings did with the Los Angeles-based funk-jazz band Scary Goldings. 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, 1008 Wall St., La Jolla. $45-$50. 454-5872. ljathaneum.
