Stephen Fry's recent drastic five-stone weight loss and a bout of severe sickness has led him to issue a warning about the use of the weight loss drug Ozempic. He found it to be "astonishing" in the initial stages as he effortlessly shed pounds; however, his experience took a dreadful turn, causing him to throw up five times a day.
Ozempic can cause side-effects like feeling sick, tummy pain, running to the loo a lot and being sick. Some people have even got thyroid tumours after reacting badly to the medicine, which is really called Semaglutide and helps adults with type two diabetes control their blood sugar levels. But in a turn of events back in 2023, she admitted regret over using the drug. The renowned TV personality pointed out that she had lost too much weight, even dipping below 100 pounds at one point.
This week, Whoopi Goldberg has joined the ranks of celebrities openly discussing their use of weight loss medication. In an ABC TV special titled An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame And The Weight Loss Revolution, she didn't name Ozempic specifically but admitted to using similar treatments, including Mounjaro injections, to aid her weight loss.
He stated: "I see people who are taking all the new weight-loss drugs and that's great, and it's really changed their lives. But my concern always is, okay, now what? What's the plan for the longevity of everything?". He said: "I had a strange sort of childhood, it sounds like it was Downton Abbey, or something, but it really wasn't. My parents did have a cook, and we had gardeners and we had an old fashioned Victorian kitchen garden.
The actor then became so addicted to sweets when he was boarding at Uppingham School in Rutland that he had to have multiple fillings and some teeth removed. Fry also blamed the cigarette copying candy and the "glamour of white powder sherbet" for his cocaine habit and chain smoking tendencies as an adult.
