Data from The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia showed 202,00 speeding fines were issued in the past year alone, with mobile speed cameras responsible for detecting almost half of offences.
Of the infringements issued, 14,000 were for speeding 20 kilometres above the limit - an offence that can leave drivers up to $900 out of pocket.The majority of fines were issued to drivers who exceeded the speed limit by 10km/h, while fixed speed cameras like those at intersections and pedestrian crossings managed to catch nearly 60,000 offending drivers.
