For International Day of Happiness, photographers sent us pictures of a Syrian boy who finds joy caring for farm animals, Ukrainian girls on a trampoline, music lovers grooving to the blues and more.

The girls in the photo are from 2016, they are IDPs from Crimea. In this photo from 2016, young Jewish girls from the village school play on a trampoline during a break between classes, finding some solace and fun in the midst of their uprooted lives.Azzam, 12, lost his leg when a bomb hit the building where he was sheltering with his family in Syria. They now live in a rural area outside of Damascus, where he finds happiness and peace in caring for the farm animals after school.

The Ali family owns a small piece of land where they grow palm trees. They harvest the dates for export or to sell to local businesses. But the pandemic put a stop to all of that for Belen.
