A fire damaged a building on a commercial property early Tuesday morning that includes the famed music venue, but firefighters kept the blaze from spreading to the main structure.

Firefighters sent to 3787 Cahuenga Blvd. at 5:28 a.m. doused the flames in 17 minutes, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“Firefighters found a detached A/V room with fire inside behind the main building, with flames threatening the commercial ,” Prange said in a statement. “Crews quickly deployed hose lines to the rear and extinguished the flames, keeping them from extending inside the main portion of the business.” The property includes the Baked Potato club, according to the LAFD, which reported that LAPD officers patrolling in the area saw smoke at the site and reported the fire.
