Williamson Art Gallery and Museum welcomed the public to its 61st ‘Open Exhibition’

The winning artist of Birkenhead art gallery's 61st Open Exhibition said she hopes it inspires others to pick up a camera.

Hannah Cassidy, winner of the Photography Prize for “A Great British Summer" New Brighton Beach 2022, described the award as “a huge honour” considering the rich history of the prestigious exhibition. “I thought it would be an interesting piece to enter to a local gallery, so when I saw the opportunity at the Williamson, I entered immediately.

Founded in 1962, the event has occurred every year except 2021 for 61 years as it continues to be a celebration of artistic talent in the region, showcasing both new and established artists.
