Every suggestion made by photographer Simon Schluter – “maybe put your hand up a little; try looking into the camera” – is met by one of his own.
“What if I have the camera down at my waist, like this,” says Irwin, who is a keen photographer himself , and for the string of wildlife documentary series he and his sister Bindi and their mother Terri have made.“I was literally filmed being born,” he says, referring to the fact theseries captured his birth for posterity, and viewers. “My whole life has been on camera in so many different mediums.
“I’m a very proud Australian, very proud Queenslander, and I want to do my home justice, if nothing else,” he says. “So, in a way, it is a new and different thing for me. But it is also what I’ve been doing quite literally since I was born.is on Ten on Sunday, March 24, at 7.30pm.
