“Dua’s My Biggest Teacher”: Camden Girl Rina Lipa On Books, Looks And Her Acting Aspirations

Last September, Rina Lipa graduated with a degree in drama and theatre arts from Goldsmiths, dressed in the opening look from Valentino’s autumn/winter 2023 collection. It didn’t quite fit the bohemian aesthetic that tends to collect around humanities students, but Lipa’s undergraduate experience was never going to meet convention.

She’s self-aware about the nepo-sibling thing. “Dua’s my biggest teacher and I’m so in awe of her work ethic,” she says, “which is why we laugh at all those memes that say all she does is go on holiday and eat olive oil ice cream.” As an aspiring actor – “I love naturalism but wouldn’t say no to a Yorgos Lanthimos film” – Rina will also need to strive to be known as more than a so-called It girl. “I love calling other girls that,” she says, “but when it’s me… cringe.
