Emotional Denise Welch says 'until next time' to Coronation Street pal's support

Denise Welch was left emotional as she opened up about the end of her latest stint on stage. The Loose Women star has been splitting her time between appearing on the ITV panel show and performing in a play in Manchester.

But back in January, the 65-year-old revealed she was taking on a new role the new play, The Gap, which was put together by award-winning playwright Jim Cartwright. Launching in February, it starred Denise and actor and TV star Matthew Kelly and took place at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre. Taking to Instagram, Denise opened up in a video that she shared with her fans and followers. In it, she appeared emotional as she said: "Well it's Saturday night and I'm about to do Act 2 of The Gap at Hope Mill Theatre for the last time... For the last time at Hope Mill Theatre."

Denise went on to explain how they've been performing in the play for five weeks - one week of that being an extension - to sold-out audiences and shared how much she "adores" Matthew. "I'm going to miss him terribly," she said. "I'm very emotional because I've loved doing this play. It's meant so much to me and I want to thank everyone at Hope Mill - the people behind the stage, the people in front of hours - the audiences...
