Schoolchildren stage amazing production of sci-fi horror classic Alien for their annual show

The movie, directed by Ridley Scott and starring a young Sigourney Weaver as heroine Ellen Ripley, sees a space freighter crew try to survive attacks by a terrifying, sharp-toothed alien that has stowed away on board.Its most famous scene sees a baby alien burst from the belly of crew member Kane, played by John Hurt.And the North Bergen High students were praised for recreating the film’s terrfying, otherworldly atmosphere on a much lower budget.

It starred Gabriella Delacruz as Ripley, with fellow students Ibrahim Jaludi, David De Diego, Pedro Sarmiento, Britney Gonzalez, Jason Lopez and Gabriela Delacruz also given leading roles.‘Blows my high school’s adaptation of Pink Flamingos out of the water.’English teacher Perfecto Cuervo adapted and directed the play, with artist and drawing teacher Steven Defendi designing its sets and aliens.‘This is a nice validation of eight months of work for all these students.
