Late Late Show Pays Tribute to Charlie Bird

Late Late Show viewers praised a heartwarming tribute to Charlie Bird on Friday night’s programme. Patrick Kielty took a moment to salute the life of the great late Charlie Bird halfway through the St Patrick’s Day special after the legendary journalist passed away this week. Tributes poured in from every corner of the country after the 74-year-old journalist and broadcaster passed away after a long battle with Motor Neuron Disease.

Charlie appeared on the Late Late Show a number of times to speak out about MND and his life with the condition, with the show paying respect to the late RTÉ correspondent and his life. Turning to the camera, host Kielty said: "Charlie Bird, a man who told us the news and whose journey the past few years became the news and inspired us all."
