Oakland Restaurant Week brings out the best in our town. Last week’s kickoff party for the hospitality industry showed a side of Oakland that we don’t see enough — a bustling downtown with hundreds of people gathered in Bocanova’s artfully-designed restaurant to celebrate exceptional food and drink.
On Friday night this week, diners at Italian Colors will have the opportunity to donate to this cause by tacking on a few extra bucks to their bill — earmarked for the Montclair Village Association.SkinSpirit is expanding into the now-shuttered Golden State Fitness next-door on Mountain Boulevard. The expansion and remodeling is expected to be done by the end of summer.
The road is so pitted that the potholes form a chain of lakes in the rain and are a menace to everyone who values their cars’ wheel alignment. Mountain Boulevard in front of the Lucky supermarket is another spot vying for attention as cars navigate the pockmarked path to and from Montclair Village.
