The young man accused of murdering an alleged drug dealer while trying to rob him in a Gold Coast carpark has been identified as a graduate of Queensland’s prestigious Ipswich Grammar School. Haedyn Patrick Zachary Rawson, 23, has been charged with the stabbing murder of 21-year-old Will Swinbourne during an altercation at Hope Island Shopping Centre on Monday afternoon.

Victim and man accused in fatal Hope Island stabbing identified. The two men had met at UK DJ Fred Again’s show on the Gold Coast the weekend before the alleged murder. Rawson allegedly fled the scene of the stabbing, sparking “scary” scenes for local residents as police on the ground and in the air hunted him. He was found a short time later, allegedly hiding in a townhouse under construction.
