Now, a work of fan art has combined the two brilliantly. Merging Detective Comics #27 and Amazing Fantasy #15 is surprisingly humorous, becoming funnier as each detail is noticed.

On Instagram, Kerry Callen - an illustrator - shared a parody sketch modeled after both Detective Comics #27 and Amazing Fantasy #15. It combines the art from both, modeling the work of Bob Kane, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko. The merger of DC and Marvel Comics shows the two heroes swinging into action.However, the two have managed to swing into one another, making for a humorous, vintage-inspired run-in.

Batman & Spider-Man Meet in Vintage Homage In the parody art, Batman's zip line and Spider-Man's web have become entangled, causing them to have a run-in within the city. Neither is seen holding the criminals they had caught as shown in the original art.

This new twist on the iconic comic covers channels the best of the vintage look for both heroes. Batman is wearing his old-school gloves, while Spider-man's web is enhanced through the emphasis on its texture and thickness. Although the friendly neighborhood hero doesn't appear to have his web "wing" gliders under his arms here, the vibrancy of his suit is amazing.

Batman & Spider-Man Have Major Crossover Potential Close DC's Dark Knight and Marvel's webslinger both share a loss of parents, a strong sense of justice, and the ability to save their homes. They may have very different personalities, but the two have plenty of potential for a great team-up. Spider-Man uses a very gymnastic style of fighting his foes thanks to his agile movements and speed, making him a bit similar to Dick Grayson's Robin.
