Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Although most details surrounding Transformers 8 are under wraps, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts might have spoiled Optimus Prime's future story. Still, he initially shows Transit some mercy and tells him he might spare him if he gives him his ship. Transit, however, refuses to comply with Optimus Prime, and the two duke it out in a parking lot. Although Optimus Prime takes some damage, he reaches the end of his wits when Transit claims that he intentionally destroyed his own ship to prevent the Autobots from leaving Earth. As a result, he lashes out at him and channels all his frustration by killing the Decepticon.
In the original ending, Optimus Prime drifts into outer space and eventually comes face-to-face with Unicron. Unlike the theatrical ending that maintains an air of mystery surrounding Unicron's fate, the original ending was seemingly supposed to set the stage for a showdown between Optimus Prime and Unicron in potential sequels.
Since teaming up with the Terrorcons did not go as planned for Unicron, he could join forces with the Decepticons and recruit Megatron as his next herald to take over Earth
