One person is dead after a shooting in Fort Worth late Saturday night in the city’s popular West 7th entertainment district.

Police said officers were called to the 2900 block of Crockett Street, where two people got into a fight just after 10 p.m.Investigators found that one person pulled out a gun, opened fire, and then ran away.Paramedics tried to revive the gunshot victim, identified as 29-year-old Bryson Rodgers, but Rodgers was pronounced dead at the scene.It's unclear if Rodgers knew the person who shot him.Police are looking for witnesses while searching for the shooter.

"It’s just sad, why do we ever have to come to that?" Joe Kaminski said.People said they feel safe for the most part during the day."Once I come out here in the nighttime, you just have to keep your whereabouts and know exactly what you’re doing," Ysrael Placencia said.Placencia lived in one of the apartment buildings on Crockett Street."I moved out. I heard one too many gunshots and I was like, ‘I’m out, I don’t want to be here anymore,’" she said.
