A security guard has died after being allegedly assaulted at a hotel in Sutherland in Sydney’s south overnight. Emergency services received reports of the alleged assault at the Royal Hotel Sutherland on East Parade at 2am on Sunday.
NSW Police said officers rendered first aid to the security guard before he was treated by paramedics. Despite their attempts to save him, the security guard died at the scene, police said. A 31-year-old man has been taken to Sutherland Police Station. He is assisting police with inquiries. “Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” police said.
