10cc singer Graham Gouldman spoke to the ECHO in an exclusive interview ahead of the band's gig at the Philharmonic Hall

The 77-year-old first showed the world his incredible song writing talent when he penned For Your Love for The Yardbirds in 1965. Graham was aged just 18 at the time and he has remained at the top ever since, as he went on to form the iconic band, 10cc.

"Liverpool is special because without The Beatles, there would be no 10cc." One of 10cc's first ever gigs was in Liverpool in 1973 as part of an incredible line-up when they were supported by Queen - and Graham said he always loves the welcome you get from a Merseyside crowd. The musician, who hails from Salford, said: "I remember getting the call from his production manager and he asked me a very stupid question 'how would you like to work with Ringo Starr?'

"That person was probably in her 80s but standing there and dancing in the audience was the girl at 15 when she first fell in love with the Beatles and Ringo. That was the most wonderful thing of that gift of people and the music and the memories we evoked playing that song.
