A woman has been killed in a truck crash in Melbourne’s southeast overnight. It is believed a rental truck travelling north along Jacksons Rd in Noble Park North left the road and crashed into a pole just before 3am, police said. A female passenger, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The 32-year-old male driver ran from the crash before he was tracked down a short time later by the canine squad near the intersection of Elonera Rd and Princes Hwy Noble Park. Police said he is currently assisting with inquiries. No charges have been laid. Police are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
