A man was shot and killed at a car show in East Austin earlier this month, and his family is now getting support from the community to help them during this difficult time.
Officers responded to a gun hotshot call at 3909 North IH-35 Frontage Road last Saturday evening, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 20-year-old Christian Loredo. The family of Loredo hosted a BBQ chicken plate sale and car wash fundraiser in Kyle on Saturday afternoon, all donations went directly to the Loredo family for funeral and memorial expenses.
Each plate was around $10, which included potato salad and barbecue. Candy was also being sold at the event. "There's been a lot of support in my family," brother of Christian, Jose Loredo said. "We weren't ready for this loss, but all my family and his friends are here so it feels very supportive."
