Borno Senator, Abba Aji Challenges Shettima’s Victory At Tribunal.

Abba Aji filed a petition at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital in north-east Nigeria. He challenged the outcome of the poll on grounds of alleged electoral malpractice such as abuse of process, vote buying, non-use of card readers, and substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act among others.

Another PDP candidate, Bukar Shuwa, who contested for the Jere Federal Constituency seat, also challenged the election of APC’s Ahmed Satomi on the same grounds.
