Summersett played Zelda in the video games Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Those games featured the titular Zelda and the playable Link as they attempt to find their way back to one another in the fictional world of Hyrule.
In an interview with Total Film, Summersett explained that she would be happy to star in The Legend of Zelda's live-action cast. She plans to try out for the part, largely because of how much she loves playing Zelda. She even seemingly implies that she would love to play Zelda anytime Nintendo gives her the chance. That does not mean that Summersett cannot join the cast, however. Nintendo has already proven willing to slightly change the formula of their movies. Zelda is set to be a live-action adaptation, rather than an animation. If Nintendo is willing to change one strategy, it could be willing to change another. Summersett has already proven that she is more than prepared to play Zelda. She could easily find a place in the theatrical adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
