A mum has sent social media into a spin after sharing the “shameful” punishment dished out by her son’s school teacher after he missed a day of school. Posting on Reddit, the mother revealed how she found a Find-A-Word puzzle in her eight-year-old’s school folder after he was absent from school. The puzzle included words such as “truant”, “excuse”, “responsibility” and “education”. “I just don’t know how to feel about this,” the woman, believed to be from the US, wrote in her Reddit post.
“I always find this sort of shame behaviour towards children so odd, its not like the eight-year-old is the person responsible for themselves attending school,” one said. “It’s the responsibility of the parent/guardian to have their child attend.” Another added: “Which a**hole set this? If an eight-year-old missed the first day of school, it’s almost never his fault.” A third wrote: “That is petty as hell.” One more responded: “I can feel the aggression from this. Yikes.
