The Waukegan Park District’s reestablished theater program takes another step forward when “Miracle on 34th Street” plays from Dec. 15-17.

Creative programming and youthful enthusiasm helped restore the Waukegan Park District’s theater program in less than two years after it was discontinued in 2015 because few people were coming to the shows. Now the performances sell out at the 120-seat theater at the Jack Benny Center for the Performing Arts in Bowen Park, and the first production with adults and children together, “A Miracle on 34th Street,” is in rehearsal.
