Why pop stars think the ‘in the studio’ music video is more authentic

Everyone remembers the 2007 Brit awards for Devon-born Joss Stone’s sudden transformation into a purple-haired American teenager, but what you might not remember is that she was there to present an award to gravel-voiced troubadour James Morrison, who you also might not remember. Well, the pair recently reunited for the abysmal My Love Goes On, the video to which sees another reunion, this time between pop and the gloriously unimaginative music video theme “in the recording studio”.

Framing wearing headphones in studio as some kind of 'Recurring Trope'? What a load of Bullshit. Filming in studio IS more authentic.. even if your faking it its dramatizing how music gets made.

Because they can't sing live? Pop is ear junk food.

Because it’s a video of them actually singing. Also it’s their directors and producers who “think this.” And the rise in popularity is due to a. YouTubers, who sing in at home studio set ups b. Music video genres declining popularity (and thus, budget restrictions). Now pay me
