Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon has broken her silence after being saved by the judges in the dance-off - amid some viewer complaints. The star won a "tough" face-off against Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas after the judges decided the newsreader and her pro dance partner Kai Widdrington had more potential on the dance floor going forward on the show.
Now, Angela has spoken out about being saved by the judges this weekend. Speaking to host Fleur East on It Takes Two on Tuesday, November 8, Angela confessed it was "tough" going up against her "mate" Adam in the dance-off, but she saw the positives in getting to redo her routine. Asked about Adam leaving, she went on: "I think the situation we're in at the moment is the pool is getting so small now, there's only eight of us now. If there are only going to be three people in the final then every week it gets tougher and someone is going to be the one who is going to be eliminated.
On Sunday, judge Craig Revel Horwood said it was a "tough" decision as he felt both celebrities had improved in the dance-off, but he opted for Angela and pro partner Kai based on "technique alone". Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke agreed with Craig as the choreographer added it was the "closest dance off" of the series so far.
