The incident started on November 9 when five protesters climbed up the awning outside the main entrance of the Scottish Parliament and displayed the flag and a Stop Arming Israel banner. The protest comes ahead of the First Minister’s Questions at noon.
The pro-Palestinian protesters who have climbed the Scottish Parliament said they are not part of an organisation. As reporters shouted questions, one member of the group, who all have their faces covered, said: “We’re here to put pressure on the Scottish Government to take action against arms exports to Israel.”
Pictures from the scene show a huge white banner that reads. "Stop Arming Israel" along with a Palestine flag hung from the roof and police are currently in attendance.A Scottish Parliament spokesperson also said: “Protestors have gained access to the roof and unfurled a banner. Police Scotland are in attendance. There is no disruption to Parliament business and public access to the building is unaffected.
