Australian director Garth Davis’ latest offering is long on talk and short on action. You may find yourself looking at your watch.

For a director who cut his teeth making short, snappy TV commercials, Garth Davis’ features are remarkably ponderous. One wonders for how long he can subsist on the glamour of the six Academy Award nominations he received for. Junior’s replacement will look exactly like him and be equipped with all his memories.
