A funny thing happened to me on a Manchester tram the other day. I found myself engulfed by a small platoon of primary schoolchildren. Unmissable in their hi-vis bibs, making a high-decibel din, they had been to the Imperial War Museum North. I was hemmed in by them at the front of the tram, pinned against the glass of the driver’s cab. A little girl jumped up and said: “Excuse me, sir.
We need a society where someone who is well known can say ‘I was wrong, I didn’t fully understand that issue’, without being vilified.
The word, 'curiosity' has the same root as, 'cure'. Curiosity is the way to well-being.... That truth is as pertinent to mental well-being as other areas of life. We benefit from being curious about ourselves.
Completely agree I'm curious about some of emerging economic ideas from the left. But all I see is people being certain they will or won't work. Something needs to change as lots of problems w consensus. Equally don't see how any socialist can be certain based on track record
Does the Guardian see the irony of them posting this? K
you are the champions at this game.
For once I agree with the Guardian. For the last 20 odd years of 'progressive'politics, we have been constantly told by liberals and the 'woke' PC militia how wrong the rest of us all are, how wrong we all ways have been, and how wrong we will be if we don't be just like them.
In the age of tolerance, we've never been so intolerant.
