A Brisbane mother is calling for a shake-up in disability access at concerts after her music-loving daughter missed a significant part of a Kylie Minogue concert they each paid $250 to see.
"We had a friend's 4WD to travel to the venue and I kept an eye on Google Maps and saw it would take us a 40-minute journey time, but we left three hours in advance," she told"We got to the venue two minutes before she [Kylie Minogue] got on stage, so it took us a full three hours in traffic to get there.""I asked event staff if there were disabled toilet facilities and they looked at me and said 'good luck'," she said.
"Never mind the irresponsible serving of alcohol — there were people completely inebriated, and that's why we couldn't get to our seats."Although it was the family's first time visiting the Mt Cotton venue, Ms Pringle said they had attended numerous events at other Brisbane venues without a hitch.
that's a lot of money to be treated like crap ...
Not long and Kylie will be playing at the RSL with Johnny on a Never ending tour!
Such a shame. It would be nice if some musicians could do a smaller gig, only catering for those with some kind of physical or mental disability. I know my nephew would love to go to something like that but really gets anxious in those huge crowds due to autism😀
Sounds like poor time management, poor preplanning, and a lack of wanting to take responsibility for their own actions. Why is this news?
