Reubens is a good sport during his brief time in Quiz Lady, and he goes along with the ruse instead of being offended that Francine doesn’t know who he is. Reubens gets so into pretending to be Cumming that he even speaks in the latter’s Scottish accent; Francine is none the wiser. It’s a unique cameo for Reubens, especially considering how well-known he was in life.
Paul Reubens Quiz Lady Cameo Is His Final Role Unfortunately, Paul Reubens’ Quiz Lady cameo was his final role. The actor sadly passed away on July 30 at the age of 70 from acute hypoxic respiratory failure due to cancer. Reubens had been diagnosed years prior, but never revealed or spoke about his cancer publicly. Speaking with Screen Rant, Quiz Lady director Jessica Yu recalled Sandra Oh calling Reubens about the role and how delightful the actor was about the whole thing.
