Mike Thalassitis death: Love Island stars to be offered therapy

The ITV letter - published in full in the Sun - was written by Richard Cowles, the creative director of ITV Studios, which makes Love Island.

Mr Cowles outlined the support currently on offer, which includes every contestant debriefing with a medical team - including a psychological consultant - after they leave the show. "This review has led us to extend our support processes to offer therapy to all Islanders and not only those that reach out to us," said Mr Cowles.

"The key focus will be for us to no longer be reliant on the Islanders asking us for support but for us to proactively check in with them on a regular basis."Meanwhile, Jackie Doyle-Price, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health, said reality TV was a"bit voyeuristic" and it was time for viewers to"step back here".

They need to be careful what they wish for. They craved fame and it wasn't what they hoped. How about scrapping this shit rather than creating a problem you then have to fix?

Yes, we must offer these poor people therapy to deal with the drugs they have to take when they realise that they are nobodies and no-one is interested. Yawn

Still in the news but 7.36 none on African Cyclone sad world. RIP in piece mate thought with your family, and friends

The quest for the fake life of celebrity is crueller than the normal life of obscurity

Maybe just scrap this garbage and the contestants can find something else to do with there lives?

m i g h t it be PREFERABLE to have the I T V E x e c u t i v e s INCARCERATED in MENTAL H o s p i t a l s ?

No help for soldiers returning from conflict.. but if you have a tan and bleached teeth we’re there for you.. what a message to send out..

Facebook is not discussing this it busy doing other things like hogwarts and Gays and etc

FFS! Their aim is 15 minutes of fame and some cash! They then cannot handle obscurity! News flash most don’t know who you are anyway!

Shouldn’t have taken a tragic death to implement this, but going in the right direction.

They need therapy for considering going on such a show in the first place.

Stop the ridiculous Love Island show, that leads contestants into a false sense of future security
