It's a horror movie, not a 'black' movie.

Lupita Nyong’o believes being black is ‘unremarkable’ as it should be considered normal but, don’t worry, she’s not throwing shade, following on from the success of his feature debut Get Out, which explored the social stereotypes of race concerning the black community.

However, Lupita, 36, says the essence of Us isn’t about race at all despite starring a black family in the lead roles. , Lupita explained: ‘With Get Out, I can only imagine there’s been an expectation that [Jordan’s] films would continue to investigate the race paradigm but in Us, race is not the monster.The Hollywood actress continued: ‘The remarkable thing is having a black family at the centre of a film in the horror genre but as far as the story goes their blackness is not in question.
