MANILA, Philippines: Birthday girl Nadine Lustre, who turned 30 on October 31, got an extra present this year as her horror film, 'Deleter,' bagged the 'Best Scare Award' at the 15th Grimmfest.

Grimmfest, according to its website, is 'an independent genre film festival dedicated and committed to showcasing great movies by both new and established filmmakers from the world of genre cinema.'The annual festival held in Manchester, United Kingdom features 'best in new horror, cult, extreme fantasy and sci-fi movies.'It was Deleter director Mikhail Red who shared the news across his social media platforms.

On its official website, Grimmfest noted that the Best Scare Award is a hotly contested category because the judges often debate whether the award should be given a traditional jump scare or 'something more... intangible.''In the case of Deleter, what impressed and stayed with the jury, rather than any one moment, was the eerie, unsettling mood and atmosphere of the film as a whole,' the award-giving body wrote.
